Alain Whyte joined Morrissey's band in 1991 and has been his main songwriter ever since, penning over 80 songs to date, including the hits "We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful", "Tomorrow", "Irish Blood, English Heart" and "First Of The Gang To Die".
Whyte also played lead guitar live with Morrissey from 1991 to 2004. Whyte has co-wrote and performed on Your Arsenal (1992), Vauxhall and I (1994), Southpaw Grammar (1995), Maladjusted (1997), You Are the Quarry (2004), and Ringleader of the Tormentors (2006) and Years Of Refusal (2009).
Over the years Whyte has also performed with numerous other bands including his most recent project, Setting Firess. Other projects include Johnny Panic, The Motivators, Born Bad, The Memphis Sinners, The Memphis Flash, Crash Action, The Rugcutters, and Red Lightning.
Recently, Whyte has gone in a new direction writing for TV (Gossip Girl, Chuck, Without A Trace, Rescue Me), producing and writing for
various projects.
